Experience the liminal space, be the works only glimpses of moments that were nearly too spectacular.
Quick Bio:
I am a 28 year old artist raised in the East Bay Area California and a University of Pennsylvania, Wharton graduate. I was introduced to fine art through classical philosophy. In university I became particularly interested in the art historical development of the late moderns. I grew to experience the spiritual expansion of Rothko, leverage the visual storytelling of Kandinsky, brave the expression of Pollack and embrace Duchamp who unrelentingly evolved at the frontier.
Then there was nothing to do but to take the charge.
Reading the Image
The works read like puzzle-mazes, a set of colors and forms that require the viewer's curious gaze to reach and continue to develop an integrated understanding. The viewer works to create meaning in the experience of the art by identifying familiar forms in the picture and projecting associations onto those forms. A play with unknowing, forgetting and rediscovery. Searching for the exact combination of associations such that the process of searching is redeemed in the communication of something shared, deeply, in the experience of being: that you are encountering something new and something new is encountering you... discovering the moment of discovery.
